Micro Needling Pen
Micro Needling is a form of collagen induction therapy which makes use of small needles to create micro-injuries to the epidermis and dermis. These micro-injuries encourage the skin to produce collagen and elastin, which are the building blocks of our skin. Micro Needling is able to reverse skin damage, resulting in more youthful and smoother looking skin.
Micro Needling can be used to treat:
● Fine lines and wrinkles
● Loose and non-elastic skin
● Hyperpigmentation
● Skin tone and texture
● Acne scars
● Burn scars
● Surgical scars
● Enlarged pores
● Stretch marks
Micro Needling is a proven rejuvenation treatment which relies on the natural rejuvenating ability of the skin. The electric Micro Needling pen causes micro-injuries to the epidermis and dermis, which induces the skin's self-repair mechanism. This leads to the production of new collagen and elastin, which results in tighter, smoother, brighter and more youthful looking skin.
Micro Needling is a popular procedure with clients who are seeking a skin rejuvenating treatment, which involves less epidermal damage and downtime compared to alternative treatments, such as fractional laser.
The use of an electric Micro Needling pen is advantageous over a dermaroller, as the risk of tearing the skin is greatly reduced; this is due to how the needles of a Micro Needling pen penetrate the skin vertically. It is also possible to adjust the needle length and speed of a Micro Needling pen, which allows us to further tailor the procedure to your individual needs. The Micro Needling pen is easy to maneuver and so also enables hard-to-reach places to be treated more efficiently when compared with a dermaroller. There is also less pain and shorter downtime associated with the use of a Micro Needling pen. The Micro Needling pen is also more sterile than the dermaroller, and so the risk of infection is lower. Finally, the results achieved with the use of a Micro Needling pen are superior to those achieved with a dermaroller.
Prior to treatment, a topical anaesthetic will be applied to your skin in order to minimise any discomfort during the procedure. During the procedure, the practitioner will gently move the electric Micro Needling pen over your skin to create micro-injuries to the epidermis and dermis. These micro-injuries stimulate the release of growth factors, which lead to the production of new collagen and elastin.
The initial results of the Micro Needling rejuvenation can be seen within 10 days of treatment. Visible results of the rejuvenation will be apparent 6-8 weeks after the procedure, and will continue to improve over time.
We recommend booking a course of Micro Needling sessions in order to achieve the best results possible, though improvement will be noticeable after just one session.
After the Micro Needling procedure, the skin will have a red and flushed appearance, similar to moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness, mild swelling, a warm sensation and increased sensitivity, but these will diminish in a few hours. The skin will usually heal completely within 24 hours, although there is the possibility of slight redness remaining the following day; it is possible to cover this up with mineral makeup, preferably Lycogel.
Micro Needling is an extremely safe procedure for most people, and has less risks compared to using a dermaroller or having treatment with fractional laser. Infection and scarring are rare. If experienced, side effects are generally mild and temporary.
Sides effects that may be experienced include: ● Redness ● Dry skin ● Increased skin sensitivity ● Increased sensitivity to sunlight ● Bruising ● Swelling ● Itchiness

(Microneedling PEN)
I rarely leave reviews, however in this instance I felt how could I not?! I went to Valeska for microneedling and I should say now, I am not fond of needles at all! Despite my nervousness, Valeska put me at ease completely. The numbing cream was amazing and I felt little to no pain throughout the procedure. Over the next few days I saw an improvement in my fine lines and the overall appearance of the skin. I will definitely be back for more microneedling sessions with Valeska!
